How to Make My Facebook Profile Picture Private

The simple answer is: You cannot!!. Recent privacy settings changes on Facebook mean that your profile picture is no longer private and you cannot make it private.

The only thing you can do is select “friends only” and that will stop people from seeing a larger version of your profile picture. The whole world will still be able to see your pretty face just as a thumbnail image.

Needless to say this change caused quite a stir on the net but Facebook as always doesn’t care what you want and what you think. If you don’t want everyone out there to see your mug shot maybe you should change your profile pic to something generic that is not going to put your face in front of millions of praying eyes.

If you have never changed your privacy settings on Facebook before then the following info is available to everyone: name, profile picture, gender, current city, networks, friend list, pages and likes

Now go and change your privacy settings here
