Evesham's Light Book - the lightest notebook ever?

Evesham Technology has released what it is calling "probably" the lightest notebook on the market with a built-in optical drive.
The new machine, dubbed the Light Book, weighs in at 1.2kg and measures at 283 x 238 x 35mm, making for a sleek little machine, says Evesham. Evesham's newest sports an Intel Core Solo low voltage processor as well as the Intel GMA 950 video engine, and a built in optical drive which the company seems excited about, and says is rarely seen on a machine of this size.

A basic battery offers 5 hours power, with an optional extended battery doubling that. Available in the coming weeks, the specification listed retails for £999, including three-year warranty

The display's a 12.1" XGA with which you can watch your DVDs on, using the machine's DVD/CDRW/Dual Layer DVD-RW drive. 512MB of DDR 533 RAM is packed in the little shiny box, too, complimenting a 60GB hard drive.

Also included in the machine is Intel 3945ABG Wireless LAN, as well as finger print identification and a built-in 4-in-1 card reader.
