Archos Gmini 402 Camcorder Console
The Archos Gmini is a gorgeous looking and seriously high-tech spec video camera, stills camera, MP3 player, games console, movie file player and voice recorder in one. Yes despite its wafer thin solid build and compact 10x6cm footprint, this sleek silver and red Archos Gmini Camcorder console is the last word in multi-tasking gadgetry. With a 20GB capacity, a digital 2x zoom and adjustable resolution, you can record up to 50 hours of low-res video footage or 13 hours in high-res. With a still camera resolution of 1.2 mega pixels and two-way file transfer via USB, the Gmini will store-up to 200,000 photos (bloomin' 'ek!), and there are several options of displaying your photos on snazzy slideshows, or you can hook it up to your TV using one of the myriad sets of cables included and view them on widescreen. As an MP3 Player, the console can store up to 10,000 songs, and it syncs with Windows Media Player so you can transfer, update and organise your entire music library (in MP3, WMA, WAV and protected WMA formats) from your PC.
You can even watch downloaded films - up to 80 hours of video can be stored - on the 2.2" LCD. The integral USB port lets you copy, share, connect and transfer files directly from other powered mass storage devices such as digital cameras, card readers, USB keys, and powered portable hard drives. You can play popular Mophun™ games directly on the Gmini 402 Camcorder or on a TV, and the unit includes some demo games (there are more available on the ARCHOS Web site).
This is all getting deeply techie and rather head scrambling, but basically this astonishing little unit is a multi-media giant, allowing you to take music, movies, photos, games and your own home-shot films with you wherever you go. It's easy to use, looks gorgeous and we love it.
