Biggest Solar Power Plant in California

The sunny state of California will play home to the world's biggest solar plants - two of them in total, which will see up to 250,000 homes being powered by these whicl re-establishing the United States as the global leader in solar power. These will be constructed by Pacific Gas and Electric, helping the state achieve its goal of generating 20% of its electricity from renewable sources by the time 2010 rolls around. A couple of Silicon Valley fims, Optisolar and SunPower, have agreed in a contract to build these plants. The former will work on a 550-megawatt solar farm using thin-film photovoltaic panels, while the latter is handling a 250-megawatt plant on former farm land. Go green power!
